Project Scope
The Electric Shuffle project in Austin, situated on the historic Rainey Street, features a complete kitchen and bar design complemented by high-tech shuffleboard and dining areas. AOS Engineering designed mechanical and plumbing systems to guarantee the comfort and satisfaction of both staff and patrons.
Services
Mechanical Design:
AOS integrated spiral ductwork throughout the open-to-deck ceilings to complement the industrial and artistic ambiance of the space. Recognizing that each Electric Shuffle location is unique, AOS tailored the kitchen and bar HVAC systems to align with the building’s architectural features, code requirements, and Electric Shuffle’s design standards, all while delivering a cost-effective solution for the client. Collaboration with a kitchen HVAC consultant was necessary for the specification of kitchen hoods, exhaust fans, and make-up air units.
Electrical Design:
The plumbing design for the project covered all essential areas to ensure a fully functional and efficient water and sanitary system. Public restrooms were designed with the necessary piping and fixtures to accommodate high usage. In the kitchen and bar areas, the design included connections to the sanitary and grease waste system for sinks, dishwashers, ice machines, beverage stations, and other equipment, ensuring reliable water supply and proper drainage.

Trent has designed and managed a wide variety of projects, and his areas of expertise include UPS/Generator backup systems, industrial distribution equipment, lighting design, and DC power distribution.
As Chief Financial Officer, Trent is responsible for managing the financial actions of the company while also providing continued direction and support to the electrical design team. He also participates in strategic corporate initiatives.

Gregory Speer, P.E.

Greg Speer is one of the founding partners of AOS and has over 25 years of industry experience. Greg has designed and managed a wide variety of projects, including healthcare, data centers, hotels, entertainment venues, multifamily, industrial, and retail/restaurants.
As Chief Operating Officer, Greg is responsible for overseeing all design and engineering services provided by the production team. He also provides strategic vision and direction for the company. Greg earned his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Architectural Engineering from Kansas State University.
