Project Scope
The Cube Smart Self-Storage facility provides 4-stories of climate-controlled storage units in a variety of sizes. AOS Engineering installed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems to preserve the quality of stored items while offering the most cost-effective solution for the client.
Services
Mechanical Design:
The HVAC system was designed to provide temperature and humidity control for each floor of the storage facility, along with occupant comfort for employees and customers in the office area. The drive aisle, providing vehicle access to the lowest level, required the implementation of a CO/NO2 monitoring and alarm system and emergency exhaust systems to safeguard building occupants.
Electrical Design:
The electrical design required site development, which included a photometric study to determine required site lighting and coordination with the utility company to provide a new utility transformer and building electrical service. Power was required for two 4-story elevators and the HVAC system across the entire building. AOS worked with the architect and client standards to provide lighting layouts in the common spaces as well as the storage units.
Plumbing Design:
AOS Engineering designed a plumbing system that was fully coordinated with the civil engineering plans for the site, including coordination of incoming fire, domestic cold water, and sanitary line sizes and locations.

Greg Speer is one of the founding partners of AOS and has over 25 years of industry experience. Greg has designed and managed a wide variety of projects, including healthcare, data centers, hotels, entertainment venues, multifamily, industrial, and retail/restaurants.
